Welcome!

The City of Castle Rock, nicknamed the "Gateway to Mount St. Helens," is situated between the Cowlitz River and I-5 (exits 48 & 49) in southwest Washington state. Castle Rock is 123 miles south of Seattle and 63 miles north of Portland, Oregon.

Castle Rock provides a variety of activities for locals and visitors alike. With services such as a post office, grocery store, lodging, RV park, medical/dental, and service stations, Castle Rock will meet all your needs during your visit.

Castle Rock's award-winning Riverfront Trail provides walking, jogging, and biking along the scenic Cowlitz River. Taking the Spirit Lake Memorial Highway (SR-504) east out of Castle Rock is the first step in a amazing adventure. Just east out of town lies the popular Silver Lake, a favorite recreational area. Those who choose to travel the entire 53 miles of the highway will be rewarded with stunning views of the majestic Mount St. Helens.

Supplies are needed to fix up the Volunteer Park (located at the intersection of Front Avenue/Huntington Avenue). To make a donation, please contact Dave Vorse, Castle Rock Public Works Director at 274-7478. Supplies needed include: shakes for the picnic structure roof, paint for the Harry Truman sign, and material for the rebuilding the planter boxes.
